Census information for Concord was taken by Massachusetts authorities in 1765, 1778, 1865, and 1875 and by federal authorities every tenth year from 1790. The census act of 1870 contained a provision whereby the federal government undertook the compilation of the returns of all states making a midway enumeration on the federal blanks.
